In this video, I demonstrate how to move the header image above the navigation menu with the WordPress Twenty Twelve theme. I also show you how to quickly create a text logo with Pixlr, a free photo editing application.
This is a follow up video to my first start-to-finish video found here.
Caution: Moving the header does require you to cut and paste some PHP code so be careful! (This is further explained in the video.)
As always, your questions and comments are welcome!
Enjoy!
Hallo Josh,
Thank you for your excellent explanation. My website is under construction. I am using wordpress twenty twelve. My question to you is: How do I install a menu bar above as well beneath the header? I don’t know much about this stuff, I’m just a beginner.
I really appreciate it if you can help me!
Best regards,
John Houben
John,
Sorry for the late response! In order to accomplish that, you would have to do some pretty series coding, the type of stuff that is out of my ballpark. However, I did find this article: http://zeaks.org/tutorials/add-second-menu-to-twenty-twelve-theme/. One of the top comments has a link to a blog that has the two navigation menus for the WordPress Twenty Twelve theme so it seems to be an accurate method. You would have to use an FTP program like Filezilla and talk to your hosting company about how to upload files via ftp to your WordPress site. I hope this helps!
